Yes. You can include VHS, VHS-C, MiniDV and Hi8 tapes alongside loose printed photographs in one Rewind Digital request. Count each type separately so the online builder can calculate an estimate, then keep the groups identifiable for your agreed Tadcaster handover.
Do I need a separate request for each format?
No. A mixed family collection can go into one request, with the quantities entered under the correct media types. For example, four VHS tapes, two MiniDV tapes and a batch of loose photo prints can be listed together.
If you cannot identify a cassette, include its markings and any known camcorder model in the notes rather than guessing. Our tape-identification guide can help. Digital8, Video8 and HDV need separate confirmation and are not advertised as standard services.
What would a mixed order cost?
Here is an example using the published backend prices checked on **17 October 2026**:
- Four VHS tapes at £12 each: **£48**.
- Two MiniDV tapes at £12 each: **£24**.
- Twenty-five loose photo prints at 40p each: **£10**.
- Media total with included download delivery: **£82**.
- With the optional £10 USB: **£92**.
There are six tapes in this example, so the tape discount does not apply. The £12 minimum media charge is per order, not a separate minimum for each format.
The current discount is 10% off the tape subtotal when there are ten or more supported tapes combined. Photo prints do not count towards that tape threshold, and the discount does not reduce photo-scanning or USB charges. Check the live price list for future changes.
These figures are estimates for the listed services. We check the recording format, length, condition, availability and final quote before starting work.
How should I organise tapes and photos together?
Make a simple inventory with separate counts for each format. Keep tape cases and labels with their cassettes, and note which recordings matter most or have a deadline. Our free family media checklist gives you a place to record the groups.
For photos, keep existing family or event groupings clear without attaching sticky notes or rubber bands directly to prints. The US National Archives recommends handling photographs by their edges, avoiding bending and identifying their enclosures where possible.
Do not pull photographs off album pages to make them “loose”. The National Archives warns that separating adhered photographs can tear them or damage the image. Albums, slides, negatives, oversized or fragile prints and restoration need a separate discussion.
How does the handover work?
Drop-off and collection of your originals are by appointment in Tadcaster. We agree the handover details directly; please wait for confirmation before travelling.
Allow up to one week from your agreed drop-off. The completion date is confirmed with the quote, so mention any birthday, anniversary or other deadline in your request. Download delivery is included, with USB optional.
Build your mixed-media estimate using the tape quantities and photo count. Submitting the form saves a request; it does not take payment or automatically confirm a booking. You can also read more about loose-photo scanning and local handover.
