- Keep labels and cases with each tape. Write down the format printed on the cassette.
- Note any dates, people or events you already know. Leave uncertain details as unknown.
- Group loose photo prints into manageable batches and record the count.
- Choose the recordings or photographs you would like to transfer first. Note any damage or special deadline for discussion.
Not sure which tapes you have?
Start with our tape-identification guide. VHS-C, MiniDV and Hi8 are different formats; cassette size alone does not identify the recording.
